We’ve moved! After two and a half months in Asheville, NC, conditions were finally right to go someplace new. And by conditions, I mean a combination of local public health guidance and our own comfort levels.
We got to see Asheville’s wonderful weirdness before shops and restaurants closed. We hope that the businesses that give this area its distinctiveness can re-open.
Take a look back at our time in the Research Triangle (Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill). I had a birthday, saw some lemurs, and chopsticked some Southern dim sum.
North Carolina’s Outer Banks has everything from quaint fishing villages to colossal beach rentals. We took advantage of the off-season lack of crowds to see history, high dunes, and horses.
We covered a lot of ground during our month in South Carolina. Grab a sweet tea, load up your brisket with Carolina Gold, and let’s dig in.
Hope everyone’s year has kicked off to a great start. Winter sure is brisk here in the South; a cloud made the sun go away for a minute, and I had to put on a light hoodie.
Our week in Carrabelle, Florida was mellow but pretty — so many sunrise photos!
We closed out the Big Easy with some tasty foodstuffs and RV maintenance. The rest of the country might be dealing with winter, but we’ve got spring — jack springs!
Though we’ve both been fighting off colds this week, New Orleans has offered plenty of food, warm weather, and great sightseeing to keep our spirits up. Also gators. Lots of gators.
